It’s not just you, in fact feeling extremely tired after eating or in the afternoon is common and often referred to as PCOS Fatigue.
While the exact cause is not fully understood, researchers believe that hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, and poor sleep quality play significant roles in contributing to fatigue.
Poor sleep can lead to fatigue and exacerbate other PCOS symptoms. To make matters worse, disrupted sleep can further disrupt hormone regulation, perpetuating the cycle of fatigue…
While PCOS fatigue can be challenging to overcome, incorporating certain lifestyle changes can significantly improve energy levels and overall well-being. Here are some strategies to consider:
- Prioritise sleep: establish a consistent sleep routine and create a relaxing environment conducive to sleep (such as limiting screen time before bed).
- Practise stress management techniques like deep breathing (I love the Wim Hof method), meditation, and relaxing hobbies.
- Exercise regularly (choose activities you enjoy)
- Balanced Diet & Supplements: opt for low-glycemic index foods and consider supplements like Omega-3, B-vitamins and Inositol.
