HORMONAL HEALTH ⋆ FEEL BALANCED — EVERY DAY OF THE MONTH

Is PMS worse with PCOS?

PCOS is known to create heavier, irregular, or absent periods and typically causes a standard level of menstrual pain from cramps. While PCOS can lead to heavy periods and enlarged ovaries with cysts, which could potentially contribute to severe menstrual pain, it is less probable that PCOS alone is the primary cause.

There might be other underlying conditions at play, such endometriosis, which is well-known for causing severe menstrual pain. If you have already been diagnosed with PCOS and are experiencing intense pain during your periods, we recommend getting this checked out.

Don’t simply assume that the pain is solely due to PCOS and endure it; if in doubt, consult your doctor for a thorough evaluation. While it is uncommon to have both PCOS and endometriosis simultaneously, it is not impossible, and identifying if there is another contributing factor to your symptoms can help you find the proper way to manage them.
