HORMONAL HEALTH ⋆ FEEL BALANCED — EVERY DAY OF THE MONTH

What's the difference between PCOS & PCOD?

PCOD, also known as polycystic ovary disease, is often used interchangeably with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), leaving many people wondering what the difference is.

The truth is, PCOD and PCOS are really just different names for the same condition. PCOD was the original term, but as research progressed, it became evident that PCOS is not a straightforward disease with set causes, symptoms, and treatments. Instead, it is a multifaceted syndrome with diverse symptoms that vary from person to person. Plus, there is no singular known cause or cure for PCOS.

Hence, the name was changed from “disease” to “syndrome”, and today the widely accepted term is PCOS. So when you encounter articles or people talking about PCOD, they’re referring to the same thing as PCOS.
