It’s generally ok to enjoy alcohol in moderation if you have PCOS, but it’s important to be aware that alcohol can potentially elevate testosterone levels, cause a drop in blood sugar levels, affect blood flow to the reproductive organs and trigger excessive release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), both of which regulate ovulation in women.
For these reasons, while you don’t have to eliminate it altogether it’s a good idea to minimise your alcohol consumption.
